Sarah E. Black

Sarah E. Black, 89, of East Freedom passed away Tuesday March 13, 2018 at The Winds at Mattern Orchard, Duncansville. She was born on November 25, 1928 in East Freedom, daughter of the late Charles Dodson and Mary (Eckard) Dodson. She married Derwood Black on March 8, 1952 in Cumberland, Maryland. He preceded her in death on November 7, 1989.

Surviving are two sons, Allen Black and wife Joy of Richmond, VA, and Richard Black and wife Carol of Springville, NY, 2 grandchildren, Bryson and Mikayla Black.

Sarah was a 1946 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed flowers, and gardening. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, East Freedom.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Claysburg Union Cemetery.
