Rena Vivian Kaufman, 94, of Alum Bank, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday May 29, 2022. She was born in Davidsville on July 12, 1927, a daughter of Dorsey C. and Sadie (Thomas) Yoder. On July 16, 1948, she married Karl Kaufman, who preceded her in death on October 1, 2019.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Gerald Yoder. Dorsey Yoder Jr. and Aleda (Yoder) Harding, daughter Cheryl Hartman, son Dan Kaufman, son-in-law Emil Williams and a grandson.
She is survived by the following children: Karen (Stig) Larson, Aaron Kaufman, Darlene (Anthony) Scarcella, Kathleen “Kate” (Jayson) Kriedler, Irene (Jeffrey) Beutman, Chris Kaufman and Jay (Heather) Kaufman, son-in-law Jeff Hartman, 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, plus one due in July, and one great grandson.
Rena was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, puzzles and being a homemaker.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Rena’s caregivers.
Private interment was held at Mock Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
