Ethel S. Musselman, 100, of Bedford passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at home. Ethel was born Nov. 8, 1918 in Pavia daughter of Lawrence Sr. and Kathryn (Berkey) Gardner and step-daughter of Flora Gardner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Chester Musselman and Dorsey Musselman, son, David Musselman, brothers Lawrence Jr. and Gerald Gardner, sisters, Margaret and Pearl Gardner, and son-in-law Jerry Tilson.
Ethel is survived by sons Myrl Sr. (Carol), and Galen (Wanee), daughters Rosanna (Terry) Paul, Doris Jean Musselman, and Darlene Tilson, 9 grandchildren Myrl, Jr. (Rhonda), Lou Ann Timmons (Patrick), Donna Keeney (Mike), Carolyn Musselman, Jennifer Musselman, Tammy Frazier (Bob), Tracy VanVlack (Scott), Miria Dean (Chris), and Jean Hartman (Todd), 23 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and step-brother Carl Suter.
Ethel was a long time member of the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday School for many, many years She also taught Vacation Bible School.
Ethel was very involved with her family and community. She was one of the founding members of the Central Pennsylvania Truckers Assn. and assisted with writing and publishing “The United Truckers News” for many years. She and her husband Dorsey owned Belgian Draft Horses and were long time members of the Bedford County Draft Animal Assn.
The family would like to thank the caregivers who spent time with Ethel in recent years. They provided extra support to the family which allowed her to continue to live in her home.
Friends will be received on Sunday March 17, 2019 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home Claysburg and on Monday March 18, 2019 from 10 until the 11:00 A.M. funeral service at the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren with Pastor David Maxwell officiating. Interment at Upper Claar Cemetery.
