Gloria Buttry-Sadler

Gloria Buttry-Sadler 75, of Fishertown PA went to be with the Lord on Sunday January 6, 2019 at the Palliative care unit at Conemaugh Memorial Hospital. She was born October 26, 1943 in Richwood West Virginia, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Mildred (Grogg) Hume. On December 1, 1962, she married James “Sonny” Lonnie Buttry. He passed away on December 22, 1980.

Surviving are her faithful companion Dave Covert, a son who was born August 6, 1964, Lonnie J. Buttry of Osterburg married to Michelle (Weyant) Buttry, two grandsons, Austin and Conner Buttry. She was preceded in death by a brother Montie Hume who passed away in 1981.

She attended the St. Paul’s Church of Christ. Gloria was a wonderful lady that always helped anyone she came in contact with from her days as a school crossing guard to her last job at the Bedford county Jail as a guard. She also was a foster parent to many troubled children in the area.

Gloria donated her body to the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine to help students learn.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday January 19, 2019 at 11 AM at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Imler, after the service a dinner will be held in the basement.
