Harold G. Claar

Harold G. Claar, 78, of Osterburg, passed away Tuesday July 10, 2018 at Windber Hospice. He was born May 3, 1940 in Claysburg, son of the late Ira and Goldie (Walter) Claar. He married Patricia Feathers July 10, 1959 in Winchester, VA. She passed away February 26, 2004.

Surviving are two sons Chris Claar (Candace) and Brian Claar (Deborah) both of Osterburg, two grandchildren Cortney and Derrick, two sisters Eileen Grabill of Imler and Shirley Hartman (George) of Claysburg, a brother Larry Claar (Ruth) of Claysburg and a sister-in-law Joan Wright. He was preceded in death by four sisters, an infant Helen Marie, Mildred Bowers, Ivy Burket and Thelma Yingling and a brother Paul Claar.

Harold was a 1958 graduate of Greenfield High School, where he had 12 years of perfect attendance. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1968 and was stationed in France. He enjoyed go cart racing, gardening and his orchard.

Friends will be received Friday July 13, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until the 7:00 P.M. memorial service at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg with Pastor John Bennett officiating. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to Bedford Home Nursing, 227 Hospital Dr # 2, Everett, PA 15537.
