Helen M. McCloskey, 88, a resident of The Village at Morrisons Cove, formerly of Roaring Spring and Martinsburg, passed away Saturday September 14, 2019 at UPMC-Altoona. She was born December 9, 1930 in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late John and Edna (Zook) Sell. She married John McCloskey on October 22, 1960 in Cresson. He passed away December 12, 1991.
Surviving are 4 daughters Jacqulyn Lockett and husband Gary, Cathy Caldwell and husband Scott, Carol Leonard and husband Mike and Susan Bumbarger and husband Sherwood, 2 sons Rev. Richard Horner and wife Betty and Brian McCloskey and wife Sherry, 18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 2 nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by a sister Marilyn Horner, nephew Randall Horner and a grandson Ryan Mountain.
Helen was a member of the First Church of the Brethren, Roaring Spring. She was a 1948 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School and retired in 1992 as a nurse’s aide from the Presbyterian Home, Hollidaysburg after 15 years of service.
Helen was an avid reader, crossword puzzle enthusiast and Notre Dame fan.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
