Hulda May Dively, 100, a resident of Elmcroft of Altoona, formerly of Duncansville, passed away Friday February 22, 2019 at UPMC-Altoona. She was born April 16, 1918 in Kimmel Township, daughter of the late James P. Feathers and Lena May (Roudabush) Walter and step-daughter of Amos Walter. She married John H. Dively on April 16, 1938 in Baltimore, MD. He passed away February 25, 2004.
Surviving are a son L. Vaughn Dively of Tulsa, OK, 3 grandchildren Jonathan Dively and wife April, Teryl Pokoski, and Jarret Dively and wife Heather, 5 great grandchildren Jaiden, Vaughn, Xurian, Kellen and Pryce, a sister Barbara Schmidhammer, brother-in-law Wilbur Cavender and numerous nieces and nephews, who adored her. She was preceded in death by a daughter Janice “Elaine” Dively, sisters Zelda Dibert, Janet Seeberger and Nancy Cavender, and daughter-in-law Betty Dively.
Hulda was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Claysburg and a 1936 graduate of Claysburg High School. She was homemaker and enjoyed reading, gardening and cooking.
Hulda was always fussing over others and finally allowed others to fuss over her in the last few years. She taught her family well.
Friends will be received from 5-8 P.M. on Tuesday February 26, 2019 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday February 27, 2019 at Christ Lutheran Church, Claysburg with Pastor Jean Clark Caudill officiating. Interment at Greenfield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to the Claysburg Area Public Library or Christ Lutheran Church.
