James Morris III, 83, Catfish, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday afternoon at his home. He was born January 26, 1935 in Altoona, the son of James II and Anna (Ritz) Morris. He married Phyllis Link on June 30, 1956.
Surviving are his wife of 62 years, daughter Robyn (Jack) Heinbaugh of Herndon VA, and son James IV (Joyce) Morris of Hollidaysburg; grandchildren Apryl Shue, James Morris V, Jack and Dylan Heinbaugh; great-grandchildren Brynn and Alana Shue, Sophia and James VI Morris, and Cora Heinbaugh; brothers and sisters: Lillian Swander, Patricia Bradley, Donald Morris, Marianne Mitsinikos, Harry Ritz, and Gene Morris.
He was preceded in death by brothers Jack & Paul and sister Laura Livingston.
Jim graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1956. He owned Morris Barbershop in Hollidaysburg for 40 years. He was a member of Vicksburg Grace Brethren Church since 1949, where he served as deacon for many years. He was a member of the Hollidaysburg Jaycees and served as JCI Senator.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating.
Friends will be received from 1 PM until the 2 PM preceding the memorial service on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2018, at Vicksburg Grace Brethren Church, Brooks Mills. Pastor Sean McGill will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to his church or American Heart Association.
