Joseph F. Croyle, 88, a resident of Presbyterian Village, Hollidaysburg, formerly of King, passed away Saturday May 5, 2018. He was born December 27, 1929 in King, son of the late Ellworth and Glendora (Emeigh) Croyle. He married Joann Pearl Flaugh February 6, 1951 and she passed away October 8, 1955. He then married Carrie A. (Carbaugh) Baker on March 24, 1972 and she passed away December 23, 2013.
Surviving are a daughter Deborah Lindsey (Nathan) of King, 1 granddaughter, 1 great grandson, 2 step daughters Joanne Riley (George) and Jane Stetchock (John) all of James Creek, 6 step grandchildren, 14 step great grandchildren and 3 step great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers Ellsworth Jr. and Kenneth Croyle and Brady Emeigh and 2 sisters Helen Butler and Susan Ferguson.
Joe was a 1948 graduate of Greenfield High School. He served as a Sgt. in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Veeder-Root in 1987 and served as Kimmel Township Tax Collector for over 30 years.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no viewing and private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
