Lee S. Berkey, 86, of Duncansville, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday July 20, 2019 at home, after a lengthy battle with heart disease. He was born February 28, 1933 in Claysburg, son of the late Roy and Florence (Weyandt) Berkey. He married Marilyn (Miller) Showe on December 18, 1992.
Surviving are his wife of Duncansville, 4 children David Berkey (Jackie) of Claysburg, Karen Conrad (Rob) of Alum Bank, Christopher Berkey (Susan) of Claysburg and Lisa Berkey of Boise, ID, a step daughter Tara Shepley, 8 grandchildren, 4 step grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter, and 5 siblings Shirley Mock of Osterburg, Judy Castel of Duncansville, Francene Edsell of Nashville, NC, LaVerne Berkey of Claysburg and Blossom Aycock of Weatherford, TX. He was preceded in death by 2 sister C. Joyce Moses and Joanne Cassel.
Lee was a member of Grace Pointe Community Church, Williamsburg. He owned and operated Berkey Logging and Veneer until his retirement in 2013. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and reading his Bible.
Friends will be received on Thursday July 25, 2019 from 4 P.M. until the 6:00 P.M. funeral service at the Miller Funeral Home, East Freedom with Mr. Mick Cochrane officiating. Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.
