Nelda J. Baird

Nelda J. Baird, 94, of Altoona, passed away Friday September 21, 2018 at UPMC-Altoona. She was born June 18, 1924 in Claysburg, daughter of the late Sam and Sally (Musselman) Dodson. She married Albert E. Baird on February 16, 1944. He passed away February 7, 1989.

Surviving are two sons Gary Baird of York and David Baird of Altoona, a daughter Debra B. Miller of Warriors Mark, 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a great great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a son James Baird, a brother and 3 sisters.

Nelda was a homemaker, beautician, and during WW II worked in a factory in Ann Arbor, MI. She was a member of Senior Life in Altoona and enjoyed sewing, reading, puzzles, music and growing roses.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
