Peggy J. Burk

Peggy J. Burk, 84, a resident of Garvey Manor, formerly of Claysburg, passed away Monday December 16, 2019 at the home. She was born April 24, 1935 in Claysburg, daughter of the late Charles O. and Della V. (Benton) Black. She married James F. Burk on December 22, 1951 in Claysburg. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2010.

Surviving are three daughters Pamela Zimmerman and husband John of Humble, TX, Karen Williams of Roaring Spring, Robin Young and husband Ken of Roaring Spring, a son Kevin Burk of Claysburg, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a sister Thelma Crist of El Paso, TX. She was preceded in death by a brother William Black and a sister Pearl Fornwalt.

Peggy was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading, playing Phase 10 and listening to music.

Friends will be received on Wednesday December 18, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday December 19, 2019 at the funeral home with Pastor William Gualdoni officiating. Interment at Alto-Reste Park.
