Ray "Cook" L. Shaw

Ray L. “Cook” Shaw, 84, a resident of Homewood at Martinsburg, formerly of McKee, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday August 28, 2019 at the home. He was born October 11, 1934 in McKee, son of the late Elmer and Ruth (Green) Shaw. He married Alys L. Helsel on September 13, 1958 in Dry Run. She passed away April 24, 2017.

Surviving are 4 daughters Carol McCulloch and husband Rick of Schuylkill Haven, Betty Miles and husband Paul of Roaring Spring, Brenda Basal and husband Dave of Duncansville and Cheryl Horton and husband Danny of Roaring Spring, 2 sons Bryan Shaw and wife Patty of Duncansville and Mark Shaw and wife Lisa of Pittsburgh, daughter-in-law Becky Shaw of Roaring Spring, 10 grandchildren Mykal, Erik, Christina, Tyler, Garrett, Katelyn, Kyle, Sarah, Lydia and Spencer and 9 great grandchildren Reaghen, Calianna, Chloe, Seth, Caden, Noah, Gracelyn, Taylor and Augustine. He was preceded in death by a son, Ray Jr., a daughter Linda, 3 brothers Lester, Richard and Denny and 2 sisters Betty Ebersole and Nancy Butler.

Ray was a member of the Foot of Ten Baptist Church, Duncansville and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a welder from Appleton Papers after more than 35 years of service.

Cook was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed golfing, hunting, reading his Bible and praying.

Friends will be received Friday August 30, from 4-8 P.M. and Saturday August 31, from 10 A.M. until the 11:00 A.M. funeral service at the Foot of Ten Baptist Church, 1130 Foot of Ten Road, Duncansville, PA 16635 with Pastor David Huston officiating. Interment at Leamersville Riverview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to his church to be used at the Salted Springs Youth Ranch.
