Richard "Dick" Dodson Arrrangement

Richard L. Dodson, 76, of Queen, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday March 23, 2019. He was born September 30, 1942 in East Freedom, son of the late Mary Jane (Dodson) Gates and step son of the late Glenn D. Gates. He married Betty Vera Knisely on November 27, 1971 and she preceded him in death on March 3, 2018.

 

 

Surviving are Betty’s son James Knisely and wife Carol, sister Jeanie Taylor and husband Bob and brothers Jerry and Jimmy Gates.

 

 

Dick was a member of the Queen Gospel Hall.

 

 

He was a 1962 graduate of Central High School and an avid Central football fan. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was employed at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg until his retirement in 1982.

 

 

Friends will be received on Monday March 25 from 6-8 P.M. and on Tuesday March 26, 2019 from 10 A.M. until the 11:00 A.M. funeral service at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, Mr. David Pickering officiating. Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.

 

 

In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to the Claysburg Area Public Library.
