Robert V. Strayer Jr.

Robert V. “Sweet Pea” Strayer, Jr., 61, of Claysburg, passed away Tuesday October 2, 2018 at Nason Hospital. He was born June 18, 1957 in Altoona, son of Mary (Hammel) Strayer and the late Robert Strayer.

Surviving are his mother of Claysburg, a daughter Lauren Strayer of Dudley, a sister Deb Strayer, brother Lloyd Strayer, nephew Crockett, niece Elizabeth and granddogs “Razzle” and “Bella”. He had many cousins including Ed and Phil Strayer and many friends including Denny and Shawn Claar, Wayne Chesney and Humdy.

Bobby was a 1976 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel High School. He retired from Berwind Corporation, Hollidaysburg. After retirement he drove flag car, drove truck for Nour Halal Meats, and operated a welding shop, where he could weld anything. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, going to the lake, gun shoots, gun drawings and socializing at Smoker’s Express.

Friends will be received Monday, October 8, 2018 from 4:00 P.M. until the 7:00 P.M. funeral service, at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, with Pastor James Neatrour officiating, Interment at Claysburg Union Cemetery.
