Shirley Lue Claar, 87, of Claysburg, passed away Sunday January 5, 2019 at The Lutheran Home, Hollidaysburg. She was born July 28, 1932, in East Freedom, daughter of the late Guy and Kathryn Marie (Flaugh) Diehl. She married Earl Clyde Claar on October 14, 1950 in Winchester, VA. He preceded her in death on September 23, 2015.
Shirley is survived by a sister Sally Wronski and husband Dale, sister-in-law Shirley Diehl, nephews Terry Claar and David Diehl, nieces Pamela Wronski and Rebecca Joiner and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Larry G. Diehl and brother-in-law Robert Claar.
Shirley was a member of the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren. She was a 1950 graduate of Claysburg High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed growing flowers, hunting and spending time with her family, especially the children.
Friends will be received on Wednesday January 8, 2020 from 4:00-6:30 P.M. and on Thursday January 9, 2020 from 10:00 A.M. until the 11:00 A.M. funeral service at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, with Pastor David Maxwell officiating. Interment at Upper Claar Cemetery.
