Shirley J. (Berkey) Davis

Shirley J. Davis, 78, of Imler, went home to the Lord, on Friday May 10, 2019. She was born October 13, 1940 in Reynoldsdale the daughter of the late Michael and Lula G. (Imler) Berkey.  She married Charles Ken Davis on Oct. 13, 1961 in Winchester, Va.

She is survived by her husband, two children Lesa Imler and husband Todd of Imler, and Dwayne Davis and wife Lynea of Roaring Spring, six grandchildren Andrew, Michele, and Lauren Imler, and Philip, Phoebe, and Phenix Davis.

She was the last surviving member of her brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by a brother Paul Berkey, three sisters Mae Hengst, Dorothy Claar, and Alice Fickes, two half brothers Roy Berkey and Samuel Beard, two half sisters Pearl Cox and Leah Barefoot, an infant daughter and an infant grandchild Philemon.

She had last attended the Osterburg Reformed Church. She had taught Sunday School at the Church of the Nazarene in St. Clairsville.

Shirley was a 1959 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School and worked at Martinsburg Cove Shoe for two years before marriage. She enjoyed being a housewife, cooking and baking. She enjoyed getting together with her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren and attending their band concerts, music concerts, and watching them march in the band at football games

Friends will be received on Monday May 13, 2019 from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the 11:00 A.M. funeral service at the Ryot Church of the Nazarene, 392 Dunkard Hollow Rd., Alum Bank, PA 15521, with her nephew Pastor Kevin Davis officiating. Interment at Imler Valley Cemetery.
