Chalmer "Jay" Claar Arrrangement

Chalmer “Jay” Claar, 84, of Queen, passed away Wednesday July 15, 2020 at home. He was born February 13, 1936 in Queen, son of the late Clyde and Mildred (Hainsey) Claar. He married Lana Grimes on May 26, 1978 in Winchester, VA.

 


Surviving are his wife, a son Rodney Claar and wife Wendy, two granddaughters Amber Claar Davis and husband Garret and Ronette Claar and fiancée Tristan Lingafelt, a niece Diane Clapper and five nephews Alan, Rocky, Brian, Eric and Wade Claar. He was preceded in death by three brothers Fred, Donald “Frog” and Joel Claar.

 


Jay was a 1954 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and a member of Queen United Methodist Church. He retired in 1998 from Blank Book Company and previously owned and operated a Homelite Dealership in Queen from 1973 – 1980. 

 


Jay was a member of the Beaver Run Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed working on small engines, going to his granddaughter’s ball games, camping in Potter County, flea markets and hanging out on Carey Langham’s porch.

 


Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment at Greenfield Cemetery.

 


In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to the Queen United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
