Charles Strayer, 87, of East Freedom, passed away Wednesday December 28, 2022. He was born April 18, 1935 in East Freedom, son of the late William McKinley Sr. and Jennie (Feathers) Strayer. He married Susie Marlin on January 9, 1965.
Surviving is his wife, three sons Charles Jr. (Teresa), Richard (Stefanie), and Dennis (Bobbijo), four grandchildren Joshua, Evelynn, Nicholas and Jonah and a sister Sally Lingenfelter. He was preceded in death by sisters Lena Finnegan, Violet, Daisy Brubaker, Edna Allison, brothers William Jr. and Jacob and daughter-in-law Amy Strayer.
Charles was a member of Smith Corner Church in East Freedom, where he served as Trustee and Usher.
He worked for the Queen Lumber Company for 10 years and retired from Small Tube Products in 1997 after 30 years of service.
Charles was a life member of Three Valley Sportsmans Club and was an avid hunter and enjoyed reloading. He especially enjoyed going to hunting camp with his sons and grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 10 AM until the 1:00 P.M. funeral service on Saturday December 31, 2022 at the Smith Corner Church, 1955 Johnstown Road, East Freedom, PA 16637. Interment at Greenfield Cemetery, Imler.
