Clair Deavor Arrrangement

Clair Wayne Deavor, 70, of Claysburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 31, 2021 at UPMC Shadyside in Pittsburgh. Born March 16, 1951 in McVeytown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Merle and Mary (Marker) Deavor. He was a graduate of Rothrock High School class of 1969.

 

 

Clair married his wife of 46 years, Carolyn (Long) on August 10, 1974. They have 5 children Katherine Benton(Scott) of Claysburg , Heather Loucks(Tom) of Altoona, Jarrod (Terrilynn) of Martinsburg, Stephanie of Claysburg, Michelle of Claysburg. His beloved grandchildren Brandon and Alexis Benton, Sierra and Lucas Rosamilia, Samuel Lloyd, Cael Deavor, Anthony and Miranda Napolitano, and Marcus Long. He had one great granddaughter Kailey Lloyd.

 

 

Clair was the youngest of 11 kids. Surviving are Janice Oldt, David, Kenneth, Leon, and Sara Specht. Preceding in death are Phyllis Booher, Richard, Robert, Gerald, and James. Surviving are many beloved nieces and nephews.

 

 

Clair loved playing softball where he made lots of friends over the years that have become family.

 

 

Clair and Carolyn were inseparable they loved traveling and were able to take several trips with their kids and grandchildren. He never missed one of his children’s events; attending all wrestling matches, baseball games, football games, softball games, and band events. He loved taking his son hunting and golfing with any family member that would go.

 

 

He was a proud grandfather who loved spending time with his grandkids.

 

 

Clair worked for many years as a school bus driver and mechanic for Claysburg-Kimmel School District, retired from Cove Shoe Factory and most recently worked at Claysburg-Kimmel Elementary School as a Custodian. Over the years he was a coach for the Lil Bulldog Wrestling Club and helped start and coached the Claysburg-Kimmel High School Golf team.

 

 

Clair was beloved by all who met him.

 

 

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday April 10, 2021 at the Grace Fellowship Church - Leamersville Campus, with Pastor Mark Lingenfelter officiating. Friends will be received for two hours prior to the memorial service at the church.
