Connie I. Fickes, 72, of Claysburg, passed away Wednesday December 23, 2020 at home. She was born June 6, 1948 in Imler, daughter of the late Harry E. and Gladys L. (Finnegan) Knisely. She married Ralph L. Fickes on February 18, 1967 in Imler. He preceded her in death on July 16, 1996.
Surviving are two daughters Lucinda Kuhn (Jim) of Gettysburg and Jeannette Johnson (Wayne) of Imler, a son David Fickes (Trina) of Imler, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a sister Carol A. Knisely (Jim) of Gettysburg, nieces and nephews, her companion Richard Eicher and special friends Robert and Kristy Schneider.
Connie was a 1966 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel High School. She was a team driver for Smith Transport, driving with her husband for several years. Upon his death she drove a tour bus at Gettysburg and also worked at Martin’s General Store, Claysburg.
Connie enjoyed crocheting, her cats and Gettysburg history, and especially spending time with family and friends.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
