Dennis Virgil Walter

Dennis Virgil Walter, 67, of Newry, passed away Thursday October 1, 2020 at home. He was born March 23, 1953 in Roaring Spring, son of the late Virgil and Nellie (Troutman) Walter.

Surviving are a son Dennis Virgil Walter Jr. and wife Carissa of Bellefonte, a daughter Mary Elizabeth Walter of Pittsburgh, a granddaughter Claire Elyza Ferguson and two brothers Bill Walter of Claysburg and John Walter and wife Kim of Tomahawk, WI. He was preceded in death by two sisters Linda Dodson and Mary Susan Claycomb.

Denny was a 1971 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel High School and a 1976 graduate of Penn State with a B.S. in Computer Sciences and Mathematics. He was employed as Vice President and General Manager at Newborn Enterprises Inc., Altoona.

Denny was a member of the Lower Claar Church of the Brethren. He played competitive softball when he was younger and enjoyed golfing, Penn State football and traveled to many bowl games throughout his life.

Friends will be received from 4-7 P.M. on Wednesday October 7, 2020 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg.
