Edward Myrl Claar, 68, of Claysburg, passed away Friday January 14, 2022 at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born February 23, 1953 in Roaring Spring, son of the late Myrl and Alice (Musselman) Claar. He married Aurelia Hidalgo on November 20, 2021 in Claysburg.
Surviving is his wife, a son Edward Myrl Claar II, a daughter Elizabeth Ingram, stepdaughters Mandie Danner and Jackie Kummrow, 11 grandchildren Blake and Alaina Claar, Bryson, Mykaelea, Kynzlea and Laekyn Ingram, Caleb Danner, Laura and Luke Cohan and Kiera and Trinity Park and a sister Anita Fickes. He was preceded in death by a brother Harold Claar and sisters Janet Dively and Louise Weyandt.
Edward was a 1971 graduate of Claysburg-Kimmel High School and received an associate degree in electronics. He was employed as an electronic engineer at WINK TV, Channel 11, Fort Myers, FL for many years. After retiring, he traveled throughout the United States, before settling in Claysburg, where he drove bus for the Claysburg School District.
Edward was a member of the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed fishing, gardening, tinkering and fixing electronics and computers and going on car rides and sight-seeing with his wife.
Friends will be received from 4 P.M. until the 7:00 P.M. memorial service on Thursday January 20, 2022 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg with Pastor David Maxwell officiating.
