Edwin "Ed" Sell Arrrangement

Edwin L. Sell, 88, of Osterburg, passed away Wednesday October 21, 2020 at the Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home. He was born January 3, 1932 in Donnertown, son of the late Lawrence and Mary (Bowser) Sell. He married Mabel (McConahy) Walter on June 24, 1993.

 

 

Surviving are his wife, 3 children Trudy Voigt and husband John, Jerre Sell and wife Luann and Kerre Sell and wife Suzette, stepdaughters Stephanie Tweed, Alice Robinson and husband Ken and Julie McIntyre and husband John, 4 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, a brother Eugene Sell and wife Joan and a sister-in-law Marie Sell. He was preceded in death by a grandson Chad Sell, a brother Chalmer Sell and a sister Deloris Dobelbower.

 

 

Ed was a member of the Claysburg Church of the Brethren and taught Sunday School. He was a 1951 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and retired as manufacturing supervisor from Kennametal after 42 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 – 1954.

 

 

Ed enjoyed pitching horseshoes and was a member of the National Horseshoe Pitching Association, where he won many local and state tournaments. He also competed in several World Tournaments.

 

 

Ed enjoyed playing harmonica, hunting, fishing and being outdoors.

 

 

Friends will be received from 4-7 P.M. on Friday October 23, 2020 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg and we ask that those in attendance to follow CDC guidelines by wearing a mask and following social distancing.

 

 

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
