Flo E. Zupon, 96, a resident of Hollidaysburg Veteran’s Home, formerly of Queen, passed away Friday August 12, 2022 at the home. She was born December 14, 1925 in Claysburg, daughter of the late Meritt and Alverda (Strayer) Knisely. She was twice married, first to Jack B. Wertz and then to Steve Zupon, both preceded her in death.
Surviving is a son Palmer Knisely and wife Jane of King, a daughter-in-law Beatty Wertz of Roaring Spring, 3 grandsons Danny, Mike and Caleb and 6 great grandchildren, Zoey, Lily, Liam, Norah, Noelle and Avigail. She was preceded in death by a son Gary Wertz, brother Kenneth Knisely, 3 sisters Betty Dodson, Cleta Knisely and Carol Zerby and a special friend Bill Meiser.
Flo was a member of the Queen Gospel Hall. She was a practical nurse retiring from the State Hospital in Hollidaysburg. She was also previously employed at Sylvania, Dave’s Dream and as a private caregiver.
She enjoyed cooking and taking care of her sister Betty and husband Dick.
Friends will be received Wednesday August 17, 2022 from 10:00 A.M until the noon funeral service at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, Brother Richard Brown officiating. Interment at Alto-Reste Park.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to the Claysburg Area Public Library.
