George S. Burket, 86, of East Freedom, passed away Friday April 3, 2020 at home. He was born November 5, 1933 in East Freedom, son of the late Frank and Gladys (Walter) Burket. He married L. Marie Albright on December 15, 1962 in Claysburg.
Surviving are his wife, two daughters Ann Claar and husband Joe and Susan Bivens and husband Craig, a son Steve Burket and fiancée Kim, 6 grandchildren Jessica (Matthew) Claar, Elizabeth (Wyatt) Yoder, Christina Claar, Nicole Gustkey and Derek and Bradley Bivens. Three great grandchildren Jacob Claar and Eden and Evangeline Yoder, a brother David C. Burket (Betty) and two sisters Mary Elliot and Thelma Replogle (Gary). He was preceded in death by a sister Mabel Burket.
George was a member of Grace United Church of Christ, Claysburg. He was a 1951 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the family farm, Burket Falls Farm, in 1974 and was then self employed as a surveyer and property manager.
George enjoyed hunting and fishing trips and being outdoors.
