Harold “Peat” P. Hoover

Harold P. “Peat” Hoover, 84, of Roaring Spring, passed away Friday November 4, 2022 at home. He was born December 2, 1937, in Roaring Spring, son of the late Ross and Mary (Stoner) Hoover. He married Linda Teeter on April 8, 1962 at Holsinger Church of the Brethren.

Surviving is his wife of 60 years, 5 children; Chris (Paula), Wade (Jaylene), Lee (Kim), Brent (Melonie) and Crystal (Timothy), 6 grandchildren; Dustin, Phillip, Rachel, Shayla, Dominic and Gabriel, 8 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren, 6 brothers; Gene, Glenn, Dale, Max, Gary Lee and Myron and a sister Karol. He was preceded in death by 2 brothers; Robert and Lawrence and 2 sisters; Darlene and Dottie.

Harold was a 1955 graduate of Morrisons Cove High School and served in the U.S. Army. He retired as acertified welder from Appleton Papers in 2000.

Peat was a member of the Holsinger Church of the Brethren and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Friends will be received from 6-9 P.M. on Wednesday November 9, 2022 at the Miller Funeral Home, East Freedom. Interment will be at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday November 10, 2022 at Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring, with full military honors.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday November 10, 2022 at the Holsinger Church of the Brethren, 2737 Lafayette Rd., New Enterprise, PA 16664 with Pastor Paul R. Snyder officiating.
