Helen E. Long-Frye

Helen E. Long-Frye, 86, a resident of The Village of Morrison Cove, Martinsburg formerly of Blue Knob, passed away Tuesday May 2, 2023 at the home. She was born October 9, 1936 in Millerstown (Martinsburg), daughter of the late Alexander B. and Rue (Detwiler) Corle. She married D. Duane Long October 21, 1952, in Blue Knob, and he passed away on October 19, 2009. She married Dale Frye on September 13, 2012, and he passed away on November 10, 2012.  

Surviving are five children: Elaine Mobley (Kenneth J. III) of Blue Knob, Michele Howard (Brian Young) of Altoona, Drew (Lori) of Hollidaysburg, Wendy Gates (Todd) of Saxton and Vicki Woods (Terry Burd) of Hollidaysburg; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren 2 great great grandchildren, stepson Barry Frye (Debbie), brothers; Johnnie Corle of Hopewell; David Corle of New York; sisters; Veda K. Welch of Henrietta, and Alice Feathers of Roaring Spring. She was preceded in death by a brother Allen Corle, son-in-law Tom Howard and stepson Rodney Frye.

Helen was a member of Dry Run Independent Baptist Church, Duncansville and attended New Hope Baptist Church, Broad Top. She also volunteered for many years at the Blue Knob Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.  She enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Friends will be received from noon until the 2:00 P.M. funeral service on Saturday May 6, 2023, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, Pastor John D. Leatherman officiating. Interment at Mount Moriah Cemetery, Blue Knob.
