Ida Eleanor (Stevenson) Reigel, age 77, quietly passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2023, at Novant Health Presbyterian Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. Born February 2, 1946, in Roaring Spring, PA, to the late Dorothy Burke Stevenson and Roy Stevenson of Claysburg, PA. She attended schools in Claysburg and Altoona, PA.
At the age of 17, she moved to Mount Union, PA. She was married to Nathaniel Trice from 1963 – 1987. Together, they had four children, Gwendolyn, Nathaniel, Jr., Dorothy, and Lorinda. She had a love for ministry and attended Trinity Seminary School. She taught Sunday School at Mount Hope Baptist Church and raised her family to love the Lord. She had the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile. The simplest pleasures in life brought her great joy. She loved Juicy Fruit gum, playing bingo, and spending time with family. Ida would enjoy quiet evenings with family or loud nights dancing, singing karaoke, or making TikTok videos.
Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. New friends often called her grandma. At the time of her passing, Ida resided with her daughter and son-in-law in Charlotte, NC. She was cared for by her three loving children, who embosomed her during her transition.
Ida leaves to cherish many special memories: a son, Nathaniel L. (Theraesa) Trice, Jr., of Largo, FL, 2 daughters, Dorothy J. (Peter) Mason, of Charlotte, NC, and Lorinda L. Trice, of Charlotte, NC, 9 grandchildren, Kesia, Kayla (Shawn), Kendrick (Ebony), Jamyle (Jazarie), Jordan (Yazmin), Taneika, Naim, Nijalee, and Daysha, and 22 great-grandchildren: Derek, Malek, Deshawn, Marsena , Mariyah, Jossemar, Matthew, Keyona, Tayvion, Janiyah, Aliayah, Jolene, Kimbella, Kendrick Jr., Jaiden, Jaylee, Evelyn, Kailani, Jordan Jr., Jace, Jodeci, and T’Kai. She also leaves to cherish her memory 2 sisters, Thelma Marks of Harrisburg, PA, and Pearlie (James) Baugh, of Jacksonville, FL, as well as brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ida was preceded in death by her spouse Donald L. Reigel, parents Roy and Dorothy Stevenson, daughter Gwendolyn Marie Trice, grandson Nathaniel Quenton Lee Riness Trice, eight siblings: Codoshia Stevenson, Ethel Holmes, Eugene Stevenson, Paul Helsel, Roy Stevenson Jr., and Anna Mae Cooksey, Leroy Stevenson, and Betty Harris.
Friends will be received from 11:00 A.M. till 11:45 A.M. on Saturday April 15, 2023 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, 810 Bedford St., Claysburg, PA 16625.
Gravesite Service will be at Noon – 1:00 pm on Saturday April 15, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery, Claysburg.
