Janet L. Claycomb

Janet L. Claycomb, 76, of Claysburg, passed away Monday February 24, 2020. She was born February 6, 1944 in Claysburg, daughter of the late Donald E. Hengst and Kathleen (Diehl) Hengst-Claar. She married Danny R. Claycomb on May 6, 1963 in Claysburg. He passed away on October 4, 2013.

Surviving are a son Adam Claycomb, a granddaughter Carli Paige Claycomb, siblings D. Randy Hengst (Wilma), Ellen Claar and Aaron Claar and nephews Donald and Daniel Hengst, Steven Claycomb and Alexander and Nathan Claar. She was preceded in death by her stepfather T. Ray Claar and a nephew Doug Claycomb.

Janet was a member of the Lower Claar Church of the Brethren. She was a 1961 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and babysat in her home for many years. Her babies, Stone and Hawke Claycomb, Spencer and Kathryn Mauk and Brandon and Makayla Weyant, stayed close to her heart and were a big part of her life.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
