Jerry E. Black, 82, of Claysburg, passed away Friday April 15, 2022 at the home of his daughter. He was born October 17, 1939 in Claysburg, son of the late Chester R. and Margaret S. (Smith) Black. He married Janet M. “Chick” Feathers and she preceded him in death on April 4, 2012.
Surviving are two daughters Pamela Guyton and husband Courtney of Claysburg and Jill Knisely of Queen, 5 grandchildren Tyler and Jered Glass, McKenzi Black and Dustin and Garret Knisely and a step granddaughter Emily Russell. He was preceded in death by a son Troy Black.
Jerry was a 1957 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Lower Claar Church of the Brethren.
Jerry retired as a truck driver and was employed by Penn Stress, J.H. Russell, Smith Transport and also worked at Sproul Stone and Lime Company.
He enjoyed hunting, being outdoors, animals, farming and spending time with his family.
At the request of the deceased, private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment at lower Claar Cemetery.
