John J. Eckard Jr.

John J. Eckard Jr., 38, of Altoona, passed away Monday December 6, 2021 at UPMC-Altoona. He was born November 10, 1983 in Altoona, son of John Eckard Sr. and Linda (Wertz) Walk. He married Amber McConnell on March 8, 2018 in Altoona.

Surviving are his parents, his wife, five children Dylan Eckard, Elijah Foster, Maverick, Peighton and Charles Eckard, two sisters Dawn Stahl, Teresa Fletcher, a brother Sam Eckard, half brothers John Steiner II and Dennis Steiner, a step sister Lea Stahl and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother James Robert Whistel.

John was a 2002 graduate of Altoona Area High School. He was a member of Trans4mation Church, Altoona. He hauled scrap and did home cleanouts.

John was active in his community and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Friends will be received on Monday December 20, 2021 from 10 A.M until the 11:00 A.M. memorial service at Trans4mation Church, 1001 South First Street, Altoona, PA 16602 with Pastor Jim Balzano officiating.
