Linda I. Whysong, 68, of Duncansville, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday October 2, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. She was born March 28, 1950 in New Paris, daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Cuppett) Manges. She married Wayne Whysong on April 17, 1970 in Winchester, VA.
Surviving are her husband of Duncansville, a son Kendall Whysong of Altoona, a daughter Sherri Donaldson of Roaring Spring, two grandchildren Shane Nycum and Sierra Nycum wife of Shane Hooper all of North Carolina, sisters Peg Manges O’Brien and Mary Ellen Manges Feathers and a brother Rod Manges and his wife Pam.
Linda was a 1968 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School. She was very active with her family and her church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and youth leader.
Linda was also a cub scout and girl scout leader. It was always important to her to help young people get on the right path.
Linda will greatly be missed by all who knew her.
Friends will be received Saturday October 6, 2018 from 7-9 P.M. at the Miller Funeral Home, East Freedom. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday October 7, 2018 at the Carson Valley Church of the Brethren, 122 Church Road, Duncansville, PA 16635, with Pastor Bradley Runkle officiating. Interment at Carson Valley Cemetery.
