Lois "Loey" K. Ickes, 69, of Osterburg, passed away Thursday January 5, 2023 at Windber Hospice. She was born January 24, 1953, in Roaring Spring, daughter of the late Charles Oliver and Nellie J. (Hengst) Roudabush. She married Richard E. Ickes on September 11, 1971 at St. Paul’s Church, Imler.
Surviving is her husband, a sister Sharon Crist and husband George, a brother Ernest Roudabush and wife Tammy, nieces and nephews, Larry, Leslie, Alana and Angela, Michelle, Lonnie, Austin and Conner, Chris, Madison and Mason, Karrie, David, Zane and Colin and many great grand nieces and nephews.
Lois was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Imler, where she served as President, Treasurer, Elder and Deacon. She was a 1970 graduate of Chestnut Ridge High School and a 1971 graduate of the Altoona Beauty School. She operated Lois’s Child Care for many years.
Loey was a member of the Pacesetter Bowling League and was Commissioner of a Fantasy Football League for many years. She was an avid fan of Steeler and Penn State football and Chestnut Ridge Lion football and wrestling. She was also a scorekeeper for softball.
Loey especially enjoyed vacationing at Deep Creek Lake with her family.
Friends will be received from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday January 8, 2023 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 1338 S. Imler Valley Road, Imler PA 16655.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday January 9, 2023 at the church with Pastor James Neatrour officiating. Interment at Imler Valley Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Lois to her church.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and ultrasound staff, for the care they gave Loey, and all the people who prayed for her healing during the last few years.
