Marian Alice (Lewis) Brightbill, 93, of East Freedom, passed away, due to the effects of Alzheimer’s, on Sunday July 9, 2023 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center. She was born August 10, 1929 in Jugtown, daughter of Edward B, and Margaret P. (Bartholow) Lewis, the 8th 0f 10 siblings. On May 17, 1946 she married the love of her life, George D. Brightbill in Hollidaysburg. That union produced 6 children. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother and never happier than with a baby on her lap. Before Alzheimer’s stole from her, she enjoyed crafts, gardening, baking and scrapbooking.

 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Margaret, her husband George Brightbill, daughter Faye (Brightbill) Walter, brothers Leo Bartholow, George and Robert Lewis. Sisters Katheryn Smouse, Edith Ebersole, Barbara Musselman, Mary Smith, Joanne Mountain and Patricia Mountain. Also preceding her in death were her granddaughter Kristina Hoffman, grandsons John Riggle Jr., Jeffrey Williams and great grandson David Bowser.  

 

 

Surviving to cherish her memory, are her children Alice Riggle (John) of Las Vegas, Barbara McIntyre of East Freedom, who was also her caregiver, William Brightbill (Debbie) of Baltimore, MD, Dennis Brightbill of Queen, Elizabeth Hoffman (Eugene) of Claysburg, and son-in-law Richard Walter of Sproul.

 

 

Marian is also survived by 14 grandchildren George Riggle (Malsa), Tina Fleck (Lincoln), Terri Swope (Matt),Tammy Beach, Tracy Tchaouchev, Holly Younts (Brian), Travis Brightbill (Stephanie), Nicholas Brightbill, Kimberly Kaufman, Eugene Hoffman(Marianne), Kaeleesha Williams, Stephanie Milburn (Brad), Kasideigh Walter (Tyler) and Richard Walter Jr. Marian was also blessed to have 33 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren.

 

 

Friends will be received from 2 P.M. until the 4:00 P.M. funeral service on Friday July 14, 2023 at the Miller Funeral Home, East Freedom, with Pastor James Neatrour officiating.

 

 

Interment at Greenlawn Cemetery, Roaring Spring.
