Miriam Louise Cavender, 83, of Claysburg, passed away Sunday November 6, 2022 at UPMC- Magee-Womens Hospital. She was born January 23, 1939, in Claysburg, daughter of the late William and Ida (Dively) Weyandt. She married Richard E. Cavender on April 22, 1957 in Cumberland, MD. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2011.

 

 

Surviving is a son Ed Cavender and wife Rena of Osterburg, son-in-law Mark Dodson and wife Andrea of Claysburg, 12 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and sisters Catherine Kephart and Florence Brown. She was preceded in death by an infant son Joel, a daughter Gail Dodson, 4 brothers; Allen, Roy, Mark and Mike Weyandt and 7 sisters; Alice Ake, Edna Brown, Mary Ott, Dora Claar, Gladys Ake, Celia Weyandt and Mazie Brown.

 

 

Louise was a member of the Claysburg Church of God. She was a 1958 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School. She was a homemaker and enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with her family.

 

 

Friends will be received from 2-8 P.M. on Thursday November 10, 2022 and 10-11 A.M on Friday November 11, 2022 at the Claysburg Church of God. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday November 11, 2022 at the Claysburg Church of God with Pastor Kim Swindell officiating. Interment at Upper Claar Cemetery.
