Orville E. Lingenfelter, 82, of Claysburg, passed away unexpectedly Friday October 30, 2020 at UPMC-Altoona. He was born July 24, 1938 in Claysburg, son of the late Ray Sr. and Mary (Musselman) Lingenfelter.
Surviving are a son David Lingenfelter, two daughters Cathy Musselman and Barb Lingenfelter, 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his former wife Sally. He was preceded in death by a daughter Sherry Thomas, a grandson Rodney Garrett, a brother Ray Lingenfelter Jr. and a sister Genevieve Lingenfelter.
Orville was a member of Upper Claar Church of the Brethren He was a 1957 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was an auto mechanic for over 50 years and was employed at Mierley Motors and Bedford Ford and previously worked at the Sproul Quarry.
Orville enjoyed hunting and fishing, when he was younger, but after retirement he enjoyed spending time with family and friends and relaxing.
Friends will be received from 1-4 P.M. on Tuesday November 3, 2020 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. We ask those in attendance to follow CDC guidelines by wearing a mask and following social distancing.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions ma be given to the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren.
