Palmer G. Feathers, Sr.

Palmer G. Feathers Sr., 86, of Claysburg, passed away Sunday July 12, 2020 at home. He was born July 21, 1933 in Claysburg, son of the late Herman and Laura (Weyandt) Feathers. He married Gail McMullen on July 19, 1957 in Winchester, VA.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter Kathleen A. Black and husband Jerre R., sons John B. Clemens and wife Sherry, Rodney L. Clemens and wife Kathy and Matthew W. Feathers and wife Saundra, 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, brothers Galen and Joseph Feathers and a sister Patty Tenley. He was preceded in death by a son Palmer G. Feathers Jr.

Palmer was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Claysburg. He served in the U.S. Army during Korea. He retired as a self-employed carpet installer in 1998 and was previously employed at General Refractories Company, Sproul.

Palmer enjoyed fishing, stock car racing and working around his house.

Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. Tuesday July 14, 2020 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Claysburg. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday July 15, 2020 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Claysburg with Pastor Erik Lingenfelter officiating. Interment at Upper Claar Cemetery.
