Patsy J. Engle

Patsy J. Engle, 79, of East Freedom, passed away Tuesday July 18, 2023 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center. She was born September 17, 1943 in Harrisburg, daughter of the late William Leslie and Phyllis (Crawford) Gilbert. She married Kenneth R. Engle on May 21, 1978 in Rockhill Furnace and he preceded her in death. 

Surviving is a son Jamey Miller and wife Beverly (Strait) of Huntingdon, grandchildren Bethany (Shriner)Carper, Joseph Shriner and Timothy Miller, great grandchildren Lillian Wise, Rian Walker, and Aden Shriner. There are also two daughters Debra (Miller) Dial and husband Larry with son Jeremy and Donna Miller with son Elijah. She also had two very close friends, Pastor Elsie Gonsman and Shirley Shaw, among manyothers. Also surviving are two brothers Thomas and William Gilbert and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters Judy Woodall and Kay Strayer.

Patsy was a 1961 graduate of Southern Huntingdon High School. She was a member of the Roaring Spring Mennonite Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, was highly involved in church activities. 

Patsy was a loving wife and mother, homemaker, musician, animal lover and devout Christian. 

A memorial service will be held at the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 1019 Moore St., Huntingdon, PA at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 12, 2023 with Rev. Tim Shafer officiating. Interment will be made at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Blue Knob at the convenience of the family.
