Arrrangement

Tempie (Betty) Elizabeth Musselman went home to be with the Lord on July 4, 2023 following a brief illness.

Betty was born on April 26, 1943 in Klahr, PA; daughter of Kate M. and Taylor C. Musselman. She is survived by siblings-Anna Pauline Page (Ronald) of Claysburg, Theodore C. Musselman (Shirley) of Claysburg, Sally J. Leydig of Duncansville, and Francis R. Musselman (Joyce) of Claysburg; two nieces-Paula Page Eicher (Keith) of Claysburg and Angela L. DeStefano (Steve) of Punta Gorda, FL; and great-nephews and nieces- Levi T. Huff, Madison M. Eicher, Eden E. Eicher, Peyton A. Huff and Cash C. Eicher. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Frederick F. Leydig and great-nephew Logan T. Huff.

Betty was a 1961 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and a 1963 graduate of the Maryland Medical Secretarial School, Hagerstown Business College. She was employed for 42 years as the Operations Supervisor in the Medical Records Department at Altoona Hospital and retired in 2005. During her tenure at Altoona Hospital, she obtained her certification as a registered Health Information Technician and also as a certified Tumor/Cancer Registrar. She continued to work one day each week after her retirement and was a member of the Cancer Committee and served as the Cancer Registry Quality Coordinator.

Betty was a very active member of the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren for her entire lifetime. Over the years she served as a Deaconess, Sunday School teacher, Youth Advisor, Choir Director, Church Clerk, Vacation Bible School Director, Chorister, Church Board Member and on the Nurture Commission.

Betty's hobbies included photography, scrapbooking, and reading Christian Fiction. She enjoyed going to auctions and collecting Depression glassware.

She had a great interest in history and genealogy. For decades, she conducted extensive research and compiled archival data on family, the local church, the Brethren denomination, the Klahr/Claysburg area and Musselman's Grove.

Although Betty had a very busy life, she always prioritized family and loved spending time with them, especially her great-nieces and nephews. She was "young at heart" and through the years she regularly entertained them by playing board games, doing puzzles, watching Disney movies, taking them for ice cream or pizza, and providing them with wonderful memories which will last their lifetime.

Friends will be received from 3 pm until 7 pm, Friday, July 7, 2023 at the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, July 8, 2023 at the Upper Claar Church of the Brethren with friends being received from 10 am until the service time.
