Verna J. “Jeanie” Glass, 80, a resident of The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg, formerly of East Freedom, passed away Tuesday January 7, 2020. She was born March 24, 1939 in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late George Louis and Dorothy (Hoover) Jackson. She married Paul E. Glass on December 7, 1957 and he preceded her in death on April 1, 2005.
Surviving are her children Paul E. Glass Jr. and Nancy, Shari K. Drexler and Thom, Becky A. Klock and Michael and Jeff A. Glass and Jennie, eight grandchildren: Misty Lingenfelter, Travis Wagner, Ashley Nash, Scott Barb, Craig Klock, Joe Klock, Kansas Klock and Isaac Glass, eight great grandchildren: Lucas Ebersole, Cameron and Cora Lingenfelter, Dominic and Destiny Wagner, Paul “Rickie” Nash IV, Kaidyn and Karli Klock and two siblings Don Jackson and Carol Walters. She was preceded in death by four siblings Shirley Salyards, Philip Jackson, Charles Jackson and Jerry Jackson.
Jeanie was a graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. She retired from the Claysburg-Kimmel School District and was a member of the Smith Corner Independent Mennonite Church. Her greatest enjoyment in life was to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved telling people about the Lord.
Friends will be received at the Smith Corner Independent Mennonite Church from 4-7 P.M. on Friday January 10, 2020 and from 10-11 A.M. on Saturday January 11, 2020, with funeral services immediately following at 11 A.M., Pastor David McClanahan officiating. Interment at Upper Claar Cemetery.
