Virginia M. Weyandt, 84, of East Freedom, passed away peacefully Sunday November 25, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. She was born January 20, 1934 in Claysburg the daughter of the late Jessie E. and late Minnie F. (Dively) Eicher. She married Adam L. Weyandt on April 23, 1951 in Cumberland. He passed away February 8, 1995
Surviving are four daughters, Karen (Jay) Holencik of Ocean City MD, Nancy Weyandt of East Freedom, Susan Friendenberger of Hollidaysburg, and Lisa (Jeff) Stern of Bedford, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a great granddaughter, Lillian Virginia Vahey
Virginia was a 1951 graduate of Greenfield Kimmel High School and a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She was employed at Cove Shoe and as a seamstress at Saf-T-Bak. She enjoyed fishing, camping, reading, puzzles, Hallmark Christmas Movies, going on adventures, country music, spending time with her family, and her cat Red.
Friends will be received Wednesday, November 28, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home and 10 till the 11 am funeral service at Christ Lutheran Church, Claysburg, with the Rev, Jean Caudill officiating. Interment at Claysburg Union Cemetery.
