Warren Tipton, Jr. “Punk” “Tip” 77 of Claysburg passed away Wednesday March 30, 2022 surrounded by his wife, children and brothers. He was born May 12, 1944 in Cedarville, KY the son of the late Warren H. and Kaythern (Hibbard) Tipton. Punk married Ruth Walter on December 24, 1963 in Newry, PA.
Surviving is his loving wife of 58 years; Children: Barbara “Barb” Long, Warren C.” Jr.”, Lisa Pier (Joe), Nicole” Nikki” DeGennaro (Jeff), granddaughter Shannon Long (Jim) whom he raised and nephew Allen Deffibaugh. Grandchildren: Shane Warren Long (Autumn), Zachary Pier, Paige, Taylor and Alexander DeGennaro. Great-Grandchildren: Nevaeh Long, Natalie Long and Baby Himes due in October. Brothers: Ed, Larry (Marilyn), Gary (Carol), Dave (Cindy), Steve (Tina), many nieces and nephews. Punk was preceded in death by his sisters Patty Sims, Franky Webb, a sister-in-law Donna, a son-in-law Donny Clawson; nephews Kelly and David Jr.; many friends and also his three beloved fur baby dogs: Baby, Gypsie & Cookie.
He attended Greenfield Kimmel High School. In the early years he supervised the Eastern Tire Warehouse in Pottstown, PA. In 1994 he retired as a Master Electrician from U.M.W.A. Along with his wife he was the Owner & Operator of Tip’s Auto Sales for 38 years.
Loved his wife, children and entire family. He enjoyed family gatherings, his pets, feeding birds, squirrels (all wildlife), fishing, motorcycles, playing cards with his brothers and sisters and going to auctions buying/selling bucket trucks. He was a father figure and a very generous man to many. He had a strong huge heart, beat the odds for many years and truly savored every moment in life with us all. He will be missed but never forgotten.
Friends will be received from 2-4 P.M. and 6 P.M. until the 8:00 P.M. memorial service on Wednesday April 6, 2022 at the Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, with Pastor Rick Cox officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Central PA Humane Society.
