William "Bill" Markovich Arrrangement

William Albert Markovich, 89, a resident of Olivia Village, Tyrone, formerly of Claysburg, passed away on Wednesday December 9, 2020 at UPMC-Altoona. He was born November 10, 1931 in Portage, son of the late Albert and Rose (Druist) Markovich. He married Flora “Floss” Knisely on January 10, 1955 in Cumberland, MD. She passed away August 11, 2008.

Bill was preceded in death by his sons William Jr. and Jeffery Markovich, sisters Elizabeth Tavernini and Delores Deininger and a brother Albert Markovich Jr. He is survived by grandchildren Jess, Jess, William III, Lindsey, Levon, Rachel and Natalie, several great grandchildren, sisters Eleanor Szechy and Roselee Jones, both of Parma, OH, Jane Biahary of Portage, a brother Thomas Markovich of New Hampshire and several nieces and nephews.

Bill retired as a coal miner and enjoyed reading the Altoona Mirror, watching the Steelers, gum, mints and desserts.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
